Give us a snapshot of your academic and professional background? What responsibilities does your designation entail?
I currently lead the people function at MobiKwik, where we are trying to revolutionize the payments & fintech space. My charter is to make MobiKwik an “Employer of Choice”.
I have graduated majoring in HR from IMT, Ghaziabad, having worked in companies like Info Edge where I was heading the HR function for 99acres.com & Jeevansaathi.com, having cut my teeth at Times Group & Apollo Tyres.
What is the most important trait that you look for in a candidate irrespective of what the job description demands?
We hire first on the basis of culture & skills second. Primarily, we look for the below mentioned traits in a candidate we assess:
- Passion for Growth
- A Strong Bias for Action

What role, according to you, does technology play in the HR industry?
In my view, technology improves the experience & helps in streamlining the processes as a basic hygiene. I also use technology in HR to drive HR analytics & insights.
A piece of advice for candidates willing to pursue a career with your organization?
Brace yourselves for a high speed and high growth journey, which can be the “move of a lifetime” for you. We believe in creating a nimble & efficient team in all our functions, hence you get to do a lot in a short span of time.

I follow Mr. Hitesh Oberoi, CEO & MD of Info Edge, for the kind of visionary he is & the lateral thinking he provides on most subjects.
What drove you to choose a career in this field of work?
My belief that everything in an organization boils down to the quality of ‘talent’ you have & how well you can keep them engaged. People are the drivers of businesses; hence I like to be at the epicenter of making these changes.
What has been the biggest achievement in your career so far and what were your key takeaways from it?
I believe the biggest achievement in my career is yet to take shape at MobiKwik, where we are working towards making MobiKwik an ‘Employer of choice’.

How does your typical day at office look like?
On a typical day, I like to study data & the trends it throws on me, work on overall objectives of the people team, meet prospective talent at all levels & make sure that I keep a pulse tab on the current teams by meeting people.
